AI and Business Technology for Schools and Campuses

Responsive front offices, parent lines that get answered, connected classrooms and boardrooms, and student-data safeguards designed in, all installed and supported by our Irvine team.

Telxpress helps private schools, districts, colleges and training centers in Orange County answer families faster and run better-connected classrooms. We advise on where AI helps the front office first, deploy enrollment and parent-line agents with FERPA and COPPA in mind, and install the classroom AV, networks and phones underneath.

Why do schools look at AI for the front office first?

Enrollment season, the first week of school and any unexpected closure flood the front office with the same questions from many families at once, while the staff answering them are also looking after the students in the room.

AI handles the repeated questions and takes structured messages, so office staff can focus on the student standing in front of them. Classroom and boardroom AV then make the lessons and meetings themselves easier to run.

Three AI use cases

How can AI help a school? Three use cases

  1. Enrollment and front-office calls

An AI voice agent answers admissions and front-office calls, explains the application steps, books tours and campus visits, and takes structured messages for staff, including during peak enrollment weeks and after hours.

  2. Parent FAQ lines

Calendar dates, early dismissal, uniform policy, lunch programs, bus routes and portal access questions get consistent answers from your approved content, with hand-off to a person for anything about a specific student.

  3. Classroom and boardroom AV

Interactive displays, lecture capture and video conferencing for classrooms, plus a board meeting room with reliable audio, cameras and optional transcription for minutes, designed and installed by our own technicians.

Compare your options

How do campus connectivity options compare?

Qualitative. We check what is actually available at your address before recommending anything; a fiber primary with a fixed-wireless backup is a common campus design.

Compliance considerations

Which compliance considerations do we design for in education?

We are technologists, not lawyers or program administrators. These are the considerations we design for when we plan systems for schools; your administrators, counsel and E-rate consultant decide what your institution requires, and we give them the technical facts to decide with.

  • FERPA

Student education records are protected. Agents and transcription tools are configured so that calls about a specific student are handed to authorized staff rather than answered from data, and any stored summaries have access and retention rules that match your records policy.

  • COPPA for data from children under 13

Any online service directed to young children, or knowingly collecting their personal information, must meet COPPA notice, consent and data-handling requirements, which the FTC describes as applying to children under 13. We design student-facing tools so collection is minimized and parental consent flows are respected.

  • E-rate eligibility for some connectivity

Where a school qualifies, we identify which parts of a connectivity or internal-connections project may be eligible, document them for your filing consultant and keep eligible and ineligible components separately itemized.

  • Call recording and campus notices

Classrooms with lecture capture have visible signage, and we design recording as an opt-in feature per room or line, never a default. California is treated as an all-party consent state for recording calls, so every recorded path carries a clear notice, including transfers and agent hand-offs, and recording can be turned off per line or scenario.

Considerations we design for, not legal advice or a certification. We document the technical setup so your compliance lead and counsel can decide what your organization requires.

What we install

What do we install for schools and campuses?

Every system below is designed for AI workloads, installed by our own Irvine technicians and covered by 24/7 support. Each links to the detailed service page.

  • Audio visual

Interactive classroom displays, lecture capture, video conferencing and a board meeting room with transcription-ready audio.

  • Networking

Ubiquiti and Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi for dense classrooms, segmented networks for students, staff and guests, and Fortinet firewalls with content filtering.

  • Connectivity

Campus fiber with a backup circuit and SD-WAN between sites, scoped with E-rate eligibility in mind.

  • Phone systems

Cloud phone systems with classroom handsets, paging integration and after-hours routing to an AI agent.

  • Cabling

Structured cabling for new buildings, portable classrooms and modernization projects, scheduled around the school calendar.

  • Surveillance

Hikvision cameras and access control for entrances and perimeters, with retention settings set by your policy.

Client results

What clients say about working with us

We had a major phone system crash. That very same day, Telxpress came to the rescue and installed a brand new state of the art system and we were back up and running the very same day! Never have I had such a dedicated commitment from one company. Our system has been up and running without failure and Telxpress continues to impress me with their level of customer service and support. Thanks from all of us at Saleen, Inc.

Mike Leydekkers MIS Manager, Saleen, Inc.

Our company has been doing business with Tele Express for over 7 years and the level of service that they have provided over the years has been second to none! We recently moved into a new facility and implemented a new Digital Telephone/ACD system. After careful planning, Tele Express was able to put together a system that met or exceeded our unique set of requirements. They also assisted in coordinating the move of all our telecommunications services from our old location to the new one. Because of their expertise this entire process went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Tele Express to anyone who is looking for a telecom solutions provider. These guys are a class act!

Questions school leaders ask us

Is an AI voice agent appropriate for a school front office?

Yes, for the repeatable part of the work. The agent answers common questions, books tours and takes structured messages, and it hands any call about a specific student or a safety concern to a person immediately. Staff keep the conversations that need judgment and lose the ones that do not.

How do you handle student privacy with AI tools?

We configure agents and transcription so they do not answer from student records, route student-specific calls to authorized staff, minimize what is collected, and set access and retention rules on any stored summaries. We document the data flow for your administrator so FERPA and COPPA considerations are reviewed before launch.

Can classroom and network projects be scheduled around the school year?

Yes. We plan cabling, Wi-Fi and classroom AV installations for breaks, evenings and weekends, and we stage equipment in advance so a room is back in service before the next school day. Larger modernization projects are phased building by building with your facilities team.

Do you work with our E-rate consultant?

Yes. We scope and quote eligible and ineligible components separately, provide the technical documentation your consultant needs for the application, and align the install timeline with the funding year. We are a technology partner in that process, not a filing agent, and we defer to your consultant on program rules.
