AI-native business
An AI-native business is a company that designs its everyday operations, from answering calls to following up leads, around AI tools working alongside people, rather than adding AI as an afterthought.
01 In depth
What it is, why it matters and what to ask a vendor
An AI-native business treats AI the way earlier generations treated the telephone or email: as part of how work gets done, not a side project. Calls are answered by an AI voice agent when the team is busy, leads are followed up automatically, meetings are captured and summarized, and people spend their time on judgment and relationships.
For a growing business the point is capacity. The same team can handle more inquiries, respond faster and lose fewer opportunities without hiring ahead of revenue. It also changes what you buy: phone systems, networks and meeting rooms are chosen for how well they feed and support the AI layer.
Ask a vendor or advisor which of your current workflows they would automate first, what data those tools will touch, and how results will be measured in the first ninety days. A credible answer names specific processes and a measurement, not a technology.
